Dawn is an accomplished professional with a 20-year background in the oil & gas industry and 7 years in the wastewater industry. Her experience in both has led to a passion for environmental sustainability. Born in Ponca City, OK, Dawn’s played numerous sports and her early life and upbringing instilled in her a strong work ethic and a drive for success.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of North Dakota, where she gained a solid foundation in engineering principles and problem-solving skills. Inspired by her love for science and the desire to challenge herself, Dawn pursued a career as a drilling engineer in the oil & gas sector. She has worked on projects across the globe. In 2021, she left oil & gas to work full time in the wastewater industry.
With over two decades of experience in the oil & gas industry, Dawn honed her expertise in drilling operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards. Throughout her career, she has taken on key roles, successfully managing drilling projects and overseeing multi-disciplinary teams of professionals.
In 2016, during a challenging downturn in the industry, Dawn and her husband established Cyclone Septics. Dawn’s commitment to environmental responsibility is evident through her certifications and licenses. She is a certified installer, pumper, and soil profiler by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and is a certified installer by the National Association of Wastewater Technicians (NAWT). Additionally, she holds licenses as a Sanitarian and Environmental Specialist from the Oklahoma Department of Health Services (DHS).
In addition to her professional endeavors, Dawn serves as a board member for the Oklahoma Onsite Wastewater Association (OOWA), where she actively contributes to the development and advancement of onsite wastewater management practices in the state. These credentials demonstrate her dedication to upholding the highest standards of environmental stewardship.
Dawn could not have succeeded without her family. She is married to Michael and together they have two wonderful boys, Austin and Cody. She is blessed to be able to work with all three at Cyclone Septics.
